While I initially favoured the female Dervish's Vabbian robes with the Elite Sunspear set, I grew to really appreciate the Elite Sunspear set as a whole.
I generally don't enjoy the mix-matched look of mixing different armour sets, but I do enjoy the more aesthetically pleasing combinations of some of the common armour pieces with the sets.
Most characters I see with mixed sets and colours look ridiculous to me.

almost all of my characters favor mixed sets, however some characters can't have this option, based on the armor sets available to that character. On most characters I think that all gauntlets (Chaos, Dragon, Destroyer, and Glacial) look stupid... you have to make your armor mix coordinate somewhat.

Heh, thats almost exactly the same as my main with the exception of a blindfold and some purple/blue dyes.
Always nice to see other non-spiky Sins around.
Other than that I love the 15k glad/kurzick Warrior combos.

Agreed.
There's been a plethora of horrendous combos running around since EotN came out but you get that with any lack of variation in high-end vanity armor pieces.I seldom see them used for actual aesthetics as opposed to "look at me I 1337!!!" motivations.
Each to their own though.

The only time it can be feasable whatsoever is when you're at least using a sleeveless chest, an example of a horrible idea is 15k gladiator's chest with destroyer/chaos gauntlets. An acceptable idea is using chaos gauntlets with 15k sunspear monk armor. Overall, I still think it usually looks tacky, but it (might) look okay on say... a 15k sunspear monk, where the armor color matches the chaos gauntlets color, and using a chaos axe and celestial focus. Though it might look hideous in practice, you never know.
Personally, the only one I'm going to get is Destroyer Gauntlets for my Female Warrior, to mix with Ancient chest, a Destroyer Axe, and a Magmas shield. (Hoping it turns out alright)
:Edit: I also find almost all FoW armor incredibly tacky or bland tbh, but to each their own.

I really digg the Assassin, FlamingMetroid. Certainly looks a lot better than all the Warriors running around with Mo Zing face wraps.

I agree. This is exactly what I mean when I say "the more aesthetically pleasing combinations..."

I absolutely agree. In my opinion, the exact same methodology goes for mixing armour sets that simply don't match up well.
Edit: For example, I only have Chaos Gloves for my Ele, for example. She has Asuran armour (sleeveless top) and this especially makes sense to me because of Elementalists' relation to magic.

Yeah I agree.
I contemplated the chaos gloves when EotN was first released as I've been a fan of the effect ever since I got my first chaos axe and they would suit the overall "concept" of my main but as stated I use the Sin Vabbian chest piece and after seeing a few in-game and forum examples it just looks to out of place and disjointed not to mention the whole "But a sin is meant to be sneaky....how does that fit in with having two light-bulbs for arms?" outlook.

We agree on this too although I don't see to much FoW around. Most of my guildies have been getting it for HoM more than anything else although the Sin FoW is ok in my books merely for being a high-end armor that is simplistic, can actually be made to look stealthy, and does'nt make one look like a hedgehog.

Awesome! As a huge fan of mixed armors I think that is a good one. Anyone with armor sets is BORING and shows no originality.
The sin one above isnt bad either. That female warrior...well... fat thighs and nasty combo.... yuck.
All my chars I play with have mixed armors and i wouldnt have it any other way. Still working on a good one for my male warrior and my male necro. Havent found the 'perfect' combo yet so they are boring and embarassed to be seen in public.

Really? >.> 'cause I look at all the armor sets on the wiki BEFORE I make a character, designing their armor before they're even level one :P
:edit: Or rather, did that... I'm not making more characters thank god :x 12 is enough for me.

Haha exactly what I do... Though I generally go for sets because of statements said above.
I know I've seen some mixes that I feel are really gorgeous (and do look like a unique set of its own!) but it is rare from my perspective.
